Pacific Gas & Electric Utility Relocation Work

The City issues encroachment permits to utility companies, like Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E), for work within the public right of way.  Many of these utility projects are small in scope, but there are some large utility relocations underway in the City necessary to upgrade the gas distribution infrastructure.  PG&E is required to notify residents of work occurring in their neighborhoods in advance of construction activity.  Ongoing large-scale utility projects are summarized below.

Redwood and Lupine Roads

PG&E is close to completing a Gas Pipeline Safety Project by relocating gas distribution piping and laterals in the easternmost section of Lupine Rd, Redwood Rd, and Chinquapin Ct.  There will be final pavement restoration activity from January 12 – 23, 2026. Refer to the Figure below for the approximate extents of the work.

Turquoise Dr. and Crystal Circle

In 2026, PG&E will be starting a Gas Pipeline Safety Project along Turquoise Dr. and the Valley Oaks Villas subdivision.  Work is anticipated to start in February 2026 and completed in Summer of 2026.  Refer to the Figure below for the approximate extents of the work.
